ANSI-Lumen
Is a unit of measurement for the brightness of LCD projectors based on ANSI (American National Standards Institute). An area of 1 sqm on a screen is divided into 9 equally sized rectangles. The mathematical average of the light intensity in the centre of each area equals the ANSI lumens value.
Things to consider when choosing brightness?
- How many people will typically be in the room?
- How much light is in the room
- What kind of projection screen is available
- What is your application?
Resolution
The sharpness and clarity of the picture on the screen is determined by a projectors resolution. Resolution is simply the number of pixels the projector uses to create the image. The more pixels it has the "higher" the resolution.
