Medium and Solutions AV bring big screen 3D sports to London pub
April, 8th 2011: Medium UK and USL install LG 3D big screen proejctor in a London pub, bringing 3D sports to customers.
The Punch Pub Company has kicked off a trial of 3D television for its patrons using the unique LG CF3D projector from Medium UK. The pilot installation is in the Raynes Park Tavern in south-west London, showing cinema 3D images on a huge 2.4 metre screen – equivalent to a 100” television set.
The system, including the special silver screen and a Sky+ HD satellite decoder, was designed and installed by specialist supplier USL Audio Visual, the pub division of Solutions AV; in partnership with Medium UK.
A long-time AV integration partner of Punch Taverns, USL is also conducting additional 3D projection installations in the pilot. Two further installations have been completed in cities in the North East and in Scotland.
“When it comes to gaining the full effect from 3D, size does matter,” said general manager Matt Dunne. “The screens offer our guests the closest experience possible to actually being at the ground and give that extra sense of drama and excitement.”
